- What error correction levels are available?
- Levels L, M, Q, and H correspond to roughly 7%, 15%, 25%, and 30% recovery capacity. Higher levels produce larger codes but tolerate more damage.
- Can I decode a QR code from an image?
- Yes. Drop or pick an image file and the tool decodes the embedded text locally using jsQR. PNG, JPEG, and BMP are supported.
- What is the maximum data capacity?
- Capacity depends on version (1-40) and error correction level. Version 40 with level L holds up to 2,953 bytes of 8-bit data. URLs up to ~2,000 characters are safe.
- Which character sets are supported?
- UTF-8 text is encoded directly. Numeric mode is more efficient for pure digits; alphanumeric mode for uppercase letters and a few symbols. The tool auto-selects the best mode.
- What image formats can I download?
- PNG (default, lossless). The generated QR code can be embedded in documents, printed, or shared. SVG is not currently supported.

- No. Both encoding and decoding happen entirely in your browser. The text you encode never leaves your device.
