Vérifier color contrast for WCAG accessibility compliance

Measure le contrast ratio entre foreground et background colors et vérifier it meets WCAG AA ou AAA thresholds.

  1. 1

WCAG requires minimum contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal text (AA), 3:1 for large text, 7:1 for normal text (AAA). Insufficient contrast makes content unreadable for low-vision users. Automated checking ensures compliance.

  2. 2
Vérificateur de contraste de couleur →

Enter foreground and background colors. The tool computes the contrast ratio and reports pass/fail for WCAG AA (normal, large) and AAA (normal, large).

  3. 3

If your colors are in different formats, convert them here first — the contrast checker needs consistent input.

Questions fréquentes

What counts as 'large text' for WCAG?
Large text is 18pt (24px) regular or 14pt (18.66px) bold. Large text has a lower contrast threshold (3:1 for AA) because larger size compensates for lower contrast.
Does the contrast ratio account for transparency?
No — the ratio is computed on opaque colors. If your foreground has alpha, composite it against the background first (fg×alpha + bg×(1-alpha)) before checking contrast. The tool may do this automatically if you provide both colors with alpha.
