Convert between camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and PascalCase
Transform identifiers between naming conventions used by different languages and contexts.
- 1
Different languages prefer different conventions: camelCase for JS/Java, snake_case for Python/Rust, kebab-case for CSS/URLs, PascalCase for types/classes. Converting between them is mechanical but error-prone by hand.
- 2 Naming Convention Converter →
Paste an identifier in any convention. The tool detects the source convention and outputs all others: camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, PascalCase, UPPER_CASE, dot.case.
- 3 Case Converter →
For bulk text conversion (not just identifiers), use this tool to convert entire strings between cases.
- 4 text-trim → case-convert → sort-unique
Use the chain to normalize a list of identifiers to one convention and sort them — useful for generating consistent API field names or enum values.
Frequently asked questions
- How are word boundaries detected?
- By camelCase transitions (lowercase→uppercase), underscores, hyphens, and spaces. Consecutive uppercase letters (e.g. 'HTTPServer') are treated as an acronym: 'HTTP' + 'Server'. The tool handles common patterns but ambiguous cases (single-letter words) may need manual review.
- Will conversion preserve acronyms?
- Basic converters lowercase everything then re-case, losing acronym casing (HTTPServer → httpServer). Smarter converters preserve recognized acronyms. Check the output and manually fix acronyms if needed.
