TASK

Convert CSV data to structured JSON

Parse a CSV table (with headers, quoted fields, embedded commas) into an array of JSON objects for programmatic access.

  1. 1

CSV is the lingua franca of data export but has no nested types — everything is a string. Converting to JSON adds structure: each row becomes an object keyed by the header row, with values typed as number, boolean, or string where unambiguous.

  2. 2
    CSV Converter →

Paste CSV with a header row. The tool parses quoted fields, embedded commas/newlines, and outputs a JSON array of objects.

  3. 3

Use the chain for the full pipeline: parse CSV, type-infer values, and format the JSON output with consistent indentation.

  4. 4
    JSON Formatter →

If the converted JSON is minified or hard to read, format it here for inspection or manual editing.

Frequently asked questions

How are value types determined?
The converter attempts to parse each value as a number, then boolean, then falls back to string. Quoted values are always strings. Use the type-inference option to force all values to strings if you need to preserve leading zeros or locale-specific numbers.
What if my CSV has no header row?
Specify that the first row is data, not headers. The tool will use array indices (col0, col1, ...) as keys, or you can provide explicit column names. Without headers, the JSON objects will have synthetic keys.
