TASK

Calculate the difference between two dates

Find the duration between two dates in days, hours, minutes, or business days, accounting for timezones.

  1. 1

Date arithmetic is tricky: months have different lengths, leap years exist, timezones shift, and 'business days' exclude weekends and holidays. A dedicated calculator handles these edge cases correctly.

  2. 2
    Date Calculator →

Enter two dates (in any common format) and get the difference in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Supports adding/subtracting intervals from a base date.

  3. 3
    Time Difference Calculator →

For time-only differences (without date components), use this tool to compute the span between two times of day.

Frequently asked questions

How are DST transitions handled?
When a date range crosses a DST boundary, the actual elapsed time may be 23 or 25 hours for a 'one day' span. The calculator uses absolute time difference (UTC) for duration and calendar difference for day count — clarify which you need.
Does the calculator support business days?
Basic calculators exclude Saturday and Sunday. Holiday exclusion requires a holiday calendar (which varies by country/region). For precise business-day calculation, use a library with a holiday dataset for your jurisdiction.
