Terraform

Terraform is HashiCorp's IaC tool, declaring multi-cloud resources in HCL, managing each cloud's API through providers.

Purpose

Declaratively manage multi-cloud infrastructure with state tracking and plan previews.

Mechanism

HCL describes resources and data sources. Providers interface with each cloud's API (AWS/GCP/Azure). The state file records managed resources. plan previews changes, apply executes. Modules reuse resource compositions.
