Parallel Hash Tree
A parallel hash tree organizes input blocks into a tree structure and computes node hashes in parallel, supporting multi-core and SIMD acceleration.
Purpose
Provides scalable hashing throughput on multi-core platforms with independent subtree verification.
Mechanism
Leaves are hashes of data blocks, internal nodes hash the concatenation of child hashes, and nodes at each level can be computed in parallel. BLAKE3, MD6 tree mode, and ParallelHash all belong to this family.
Use cases
- Multi-core hash acceleration
- Large-file parallel verification
- Verifiable computation
