ParallelHash
ParallelHash is the parallelizable, extendable Keccak hash defined in NIST SP 800-185: input blocks are hashed in parallel and combined in a tree, supporting multi-core acceleration.
Purpose
Provides scalable-throughput hashing on multi-core and parallel environments, with random-access recomputation of sub-blocks.
Mechanism
The message is split into B-byte blocks, each independently cSHAKE-hashed (in parallel); block digests are right_encode-encoded and concatenated, and a final cSHAKE produces the output. Block size B is tunable.
Use cases
- Multi-core parallel hashing
- Large-file verification
- Scalable hash throughput
