BLAKE2bp
BLAKE2bp is the parallel four-core optimized variant of BLAKE2b, using a 4-way parallel tree mode to reach nearly 4x throughput on multi-core CPUs.
Purpose
Delivers maximum hashing throughput on multi-core 64-bit platforms, suited to bulk verification of large files.
Mechanism
Splits input into 4 independent BLAKE2b subtrees compressed in parallel; the root node merges the 4 sub-digests. 4-way parallelism exploits SIMD and multiple cores.
Use cases
- Multi-core large-file verification
- High-throughput hashing
- Parallel digesting
